WLC3 — Sensing cable for water leak detection, 3 m

WLC is a Vutlan sensing cable that detects leaks along its entire length — not at a single point like a spot sensor, but wherever the cable has been laid. Liquid shorts the conductors in the braid, the resistance drops, and the connected sensor immediately reports an alarm to the data logger.

The 3-meter version is the shortest section in the WLC family. It works well where you need to watch one specific risk point: the base of a single rack cabinet, the connection of a precision air-conditioning unit or the area around a valve in a small server room.

Basic features:

• Linear detection: alarm from any point along the cable, not just from a single spot

• Section length: 3 m — ready-to-use, factory-terminated cable

• Diameter: 6.5 mm — the cable can be routed under raised floor tiles and in cable trays

• Detected liquids: clean, contaminated and distilled water, acids, alkalis, alcohols

• Maximum detection run length: 100 m per sensor

• Mounting: on standard and metal surfaces; do not lay on mesh floors

• Reusable: after drying, the cable returns to normal operation

Applications

A 3 m section is usually laid in a loop around a single device or a single 19" cabinet. It is the most common choice when retrofitting an existing installation with an additional check point — for example under a wall-mounted air conditioner, at a chilled water connection or at the base of a cabinet with a UPS.

What else you will need

The WLC cable does not work on its own — it connects to a VT591 or VT594 sensor, which in turn connects to a Vutlan data logger (e.g. VT335G, VT825G, VT855G). The sensor and data logger are ordered separately. One sensor supports a detection run with a total length of up to 100 m, so shorter sections can be joined into a longer route.
