Wie232 — Wiegand to RS232 converter
Wiegand is the standard interface used by proximity card readers. Wie232 lets you easily connect such a reader to a PC or another system via a standard RS232 serial port.
The device converts the Wiegand protocol into serial data (RS232, COM port). At the output you get the number of the presented card as plain ASCII text or its binary representation — so you can easily process the card number with any software on a PC or in another system.
Wie232 supports the Wiegand 26, 30, 32, 34, 40 and 42 protocols, and additionally communicates via Spinel or Modbus RTU. It can also generate a Wiegand signal — so it can emulate a proximity reader.
