Thermocouple converter

Nano TC Sensor is a device designed to convert the signal from a thermocouple to engineering units. Reference junction is a RTD sensor PT100 or PT1000 (selected in the channel settings). The user can choose a fixed value for the reference junction. The processed signal can be transmitted via LAN or additionally using the Modbus RTU protocol via the RS485 port.

The device has a 7-segment LED display that can indicate the reference temperature value from the RTD sensor or the value converted from the thermocouple.

If the measured temperature value does not exceed 120°C it is possible to use Nano Temperature Sensor device, which can also transmit temperature via LAN.

Inputs

• 1 thermocouple input,
  • supported thermocouple types: E, J, K, N, T.
  • the range of measured temperatures depends on the thermocouple used.
• 1 RTD Sensor input (PT100 or PT1000).

Module connectors

• LAN – LAN connection and PoE IEEE 802.3af power supply,
• RESET – a button that enables / disables the DHCP service, checks the current IP address and restores the module to factory settings,
• RS485 – Modbus RTU connector,
• RTD Sensor – screw terminal for RTD sensor (PT100 or PT1000),
• TC – screw terminal for thermocouple,
• POWER – power connector. Additional power connector used if there is no PoE power. Supply voltage 10-24VDC.

Supported protocols

The module is equipped with LAN and RS485 ports which enables communication via:

• embedded web server using popular browsers (MOZILLA FIREFOX, OPERA, CHROME),
• Windows and Linux command line programs,
• HTTP protocol,
• Modbus TCP protocol,
• Modbus RTU protocol,
• SNMP protocol,
• own application, via TCP protocol (shared),
• MQTT protocol (server Inveo).

Device configuration

At the first start-up, it is necessary to configure the device. The easiest way to configure Inveo devices is to use a Discoverer application.  After installing and launching the application, all Inveo devices connected to the network will appear in the table. If the device has not been found, select another Interface or check the connection to the router.

If the devices have the Enable Remote Config service disabled, it is necessary to change the settings manually by changing the computer’s IP address. The precise device configuration instruction can be found in the manual.
